Scope and ContentThe largest series in the collection, consisting typically of two or more lists for each Electoral Division (ED) in each Rural District (RD) for the period c.1899 to 1938. These lists refer to valuations made between the Local Government Acts 1898 and 1925 when Rural Districts were in existence. The last lists produced before the abolition of the Rural Districts continued in use until c.1938, and were updated with new valuations on an annual basis. Two valuation lists for government property, 1900-23, are placed at the end of the series. A category of lists relating to ‘amalgamated townlands’ is to be found at the end of each Rural District area listing. The Electoral Division numbers in square brackets are based directly on the numbers allocated to each ED by the County Council, and are replicated in the titles of lists in this series. Gaps and changes of numbers are indicated.
