Registration of Births in Ireland: Memorandum Book. Records of births at St Kevin's Nursing Home. Includes personal information on the parents and baby, such as date of birth, first name of baby, sex of baby, parent names and address, maiden name of mother, and rank or occupation of the father. The record also notes the date the birth was officially registered.
The volume is an official record:- 'Supplied by the Registrar-General for Ireland for the purpose of facilitating the accurate Registration of Births in Public Institutions'. The volume records the official registration of live births but also includes entries for stillborn babies. The relevant act is quoted thus:- 'required...as directed by the Births and Deaths Registration Act (Ireland) 1880, sections 1 and 38 (see cover of H/SK/A/8). Additional information required under the Vital Statistics Regulations (1954 act) is contained within volume H/SK/A/16.
Gap in series from 29 Oct 1953 to 4 Jan 1955 (H/SK/A/14 is not extant).
