Scope and ContentMinute books, contributions books, other membership records, and financial records of the Cork Branch of the Technical, Engineering and Electrical Union (TEEU) and its predecessor unions. The collection has been arranged into the following series:
TU/TE/1 Minute Books, ETU, NEETU, and TEEU, 1955-90 (15 items)
TU/TE/2 Contribution Books, most containing members' names and addresses, with four volumes present relating to branches in Cobh and Passage West, Co Cork (1980s). 1950-91 (71 items)
TU/TE/3 Proposition and Entry Books, recording process of entering the union, 1920-76 (3 items)
TU/TE/4 Members' Benefit Books, recording payments to unemployed members, 1934-70 (3 items)
TU/TE/5 Financial records, including records of cheque and cash payments, cash books and analysis books, 1955-93 (22 items)
The collection preserves a strong record of the activities of the ETU and NEETU in the decades prior to their merger, documenting meetings and decisions, members, and administration through much of the mid-to-late 20th century.
