The file is of interest to the study of intelligence gathering by the RIC on republican activists and organisations during the War of Independence, specifically the Sinn Féin local branch network which was used, as seen in the present collection, as a base to raise funds to maintain the fledgling Dáil Éireann. The items seized by the RIC are also of interest to the study of the republicans’ day to day activities and methods of organisation.
