Scope and ContentPhotographs of members of the Aldworth family and connections, including one of Newmarket House (U1/40). Surnames occurring include Oliver, Ferguson, Maingay, and others. U1/8 is of 'W Benson, HMS Euryalus'. U1/60 shows 'The Comet as seen in Cheltenham at 5:15am 20 Oct 1882'.The photographs are generally 19th century, and on studio cards, from studios in Cork, Dublin, London, Paris, and Geneva, and elsewhere in England, Switzerland, Germany, France, Italy, India, and the USA. The photographs have been removed from the album and are kept in archival photo envelopes. The album itself has been retained, and includes captions naming the subjects of many of the photographs. Inside the front cover are two newscuttings regarding the admission of Elizabeth Aldworth (nee St Leger) to the Masonic order. U1/1 is a printed card showing Mrs Alworth in masonic garb. There is a descriptive database and related list of the collection.
