This issue is from the early weeks of the Irish the Civil War, and covers the death of General Michael Collins, the National Army entering Cork, President Griffith's funeral, and the destruction of Mallow bridge, Mitchestown castle, Newtown Park Doneraile and Macroom Courthouse, rail crash at Tralee, attack on the technical schools in Cork, the Kildorrery attack by the National army and other actions by National Army and the irregulars in Cork and other areas. On the back page is printed 'Joseph O'Sullivan's Last Letter' (hanged on 10 Aug 1922 for the shooting of Sir Henry Wilson). This are also editorials on the wrecking of the paper's machinery by Irregulars, the warm reception given to National Army troops in Cork, and unemployment in Cork.
