Scóp agus InneacharLetter from Tom Barry, 64 St. Patrick's Street, Cork, to Mr. Gerard Jones, [Northern appeal committee],162 Lower Rathmines Road, Dublin 6. Barry is replying to Jones' recent letter. He is not very surpised at the lack of support the appeal committee has received for the Six County Republicans, and has '...never seen a committee launched as this one was'. Firstly mentions travelling to Dublin to meet John Kelly and 3 others to discuss how best to help Six County Republicans and their dependents, where he stressed the need for a broad base, without '...a party political tinge. Instead some few people in Dublin organised anthing but that...controlled by the Boland-Blaney minority wing of Fianna Fail...'. Secondly, he received no invitation to meetings of the committee '...so it looked as if I were not wanted...'. Thirdly, he was shocked when he saw the appeal with his name included as Hon. President, without his consultation. Finally, he wrote some weeks ago to Seamus Brady asking his name to be removed from the Committee and he repeats this request now. He has no personal objection to any of the members that he knows, and he hopes to help in some other was the Six County Republicans and their dependents.
