Scóp agus InneacharIssue of the Corke Evening Post of Thursday, September 28, 1758, printed by Phineas and George Bagnell, Castle Street. The issue consists of a single folded sheet. The outer, or first and last, pages contain news items, many taken from the London Gazette, reporting UK and world news, with Cork news following. The inner two pages contain notices, and advertisements of goods, lands, and houses for sale. The international news is largely concerned with military affairs, while the Cork news consists largely of further notices and advertisements.
Items include a notice by Baron Kingston offering a reward for the capture of Bishop O'Bryan of Cloyne and Bishop Creagh of Waterford and any priests and friars who publish the sentence of excommunication issued by Bishop O'Bryan against the inhabitants of the town of Mitchelstown and parish of Brigown, which has put 'an entire stop to all commerce with the inhabitants'.
Many other items shed light on life in Cork at the time, with notices of sales of land to pay debts, of new shop openings, and of apprentices and servants running away from their masters. There is also a Cork Corporation notice stating that all fines levied are to be granted to the workhouse.
