Etendue et contenuLetter from Charles S. Parnell, House of Commons, to 'Dear Sir', E.Hall Esq., Commercial Buildings, Cork. Parnell is against the imposition of duties on 'imported flour or upon any staple article for consumption by the masses of the people'. He does not think it 'in the least likely that the House of Commons or an Irish Parliament would consent to it'. Suggests improved machinery and methods in order to meet the competition of American flour, with wages 'so much cheaper in Ireland than in America'.
