Other data entered includes whether adult/single/married/widow, if child whether orphan/deserted/illegitimate, residence prior to being admitted, employment or calling, religious denomination, disability, christian name of wife/husband, name and address of nearest relative. Separate discharge columns record names and dates of death or discharge in a particular period.
Some of the fields are not filled in consistently and in some parts only the patients' names, and dates of admittance and discharge/death are recorded.
The first volume in this series states that this register is maintained under the County Boards of Health Accounts Order 1924, incorporating particulars from the 'Form 29' Indoor Register, 'Form 23' Indoor Assistance List and 'Form 32' Indoor Admission and Discharge Book.
The combined register appears to contain a combination of certain records extracted from these 3 other series. The combined register used by Cork County Home and Hospital may also have been intended to replace the other 3 series.
From volume GD/45 onwards there is a slight change in the volume header to 'Particulars of Persons in and Admitted to the Institution, Particulars and Classification of Person Discharged'.
Volumes GD/1 to GD/45 generally cover a half year each ending in either 31 March or 30 September. Volumes GD/3, GD/9, and GD/14 have additional entries for 1933/1934, 1930/1932 and 1933 respectively.
From volume GD/46 onwards the registers record admissions/discharges for approximately a year long period. Volume GD/46 also records 11-31 March 1951 in addition to its main 1947/1948 records. Volumes GD/52 to GD/55A cover short parts of multiple years. For example volume GD/56 records 16 – 31 March 1955 and 26-31 March 1957.
Gaps: Volumes GD/59 and GD/60 (circa 1 Apr 1957 – 31 Mar 1959) never came to the Archives, and are listed here as 'not extant'.
