One of the most frequently-recurring writers in SM613/1 is Frank C Bowen [author, Ships for all (London, 1923)]. There are a number of cuttings in SM613/2 regarding the Finnish vessel Herzogin Cecilie, shipwrecked off Devon in 1936. There are more Irish sailing cuttings in this second volume. SM613/2 'enclosures' includes smaller cuttings, some pictures of vessels including a sketch in pencil, and a postcard addressed to Miss F Hoare. Dated 27 Oct 1936, it is from the Organising Secretary, Irish District, Royal National Life-Boat Institution, thanking her for her help on Life-Boat Day. Rango2 vols, 1 envelope of enclosures.
