The registers contain copies of orders, evidently maintained in County Hall as a reference set or as duplicates of the signed series of orders maintained in each district. The 'C' added to the code above and for the related series denotes this status, and distinguishes them from series of signed minutes also held at CCCA. These latter have the same coding but without the 'C' suffix. Within each series, each register contains orders in numerical sequence, but generally grouped in sections under Sanitary (eg, sewerage, water supply) and Labourers' Acts, subsequently Housing. There are also some smaller sections for 'General Purposes' (eg, fire fighting, milk and dairies compliance), 'Burial Grounds' , and 'Miscellaneous' (other functions, eg, Factories Act compliance).
