Scope and ContentInspectors report and findings, the result of a sworn enquiry into the running of Cork workhouse by vice-guardians, held at the 'board room', Cork intermittently between 9 January 1923 and 14 June 1923. Terms of reference include system and principles, efficiency and management, financial benefits to ratepayers, hardships (if any) inflicted on the poor, requirements for legislation. Inspectors are Seamus Lysaght and W.C. Dwyer. Headings of report include appointment of vice-guardians, finance, distribution of coal, dispensaries, outdoor relief, death rate, ambulance, contracts, dietary scale, clothes and bedding, upkeep of buildings, workhouse farm.
