Scope and Content1. and 2. Copy of letters addressed from Wormwood Scrubs prison from Captain Frank Hurley (3rd West Cork Brigade, IRA) to Mary Mahony, his sister, Australia, 20 April 1920, in which he writes of his father's death, his arrest, and political events in Ireland. He resumes the letter on 8 May, writing of his participation in a hunger strike and release after 16 and a half days, following public outcry. Hurley was killed by Crown forces in Bandon on 9 May 1921.
