Form und Inhalt1) Charter (in Latin) granted in the twenty-sixth year of Elizabeth I’s reign ot the mayor & c. of Youghal. It grants the office of guager within the port. It also grants the mayor & c. right to a messe of Herring from each herring-fishing boat within the port for the repair of quays and walls. It is also granted custody of the passage boat for 6s 8d yearly rent and also £20 for ten years out of the wine tax on the town.
