Form und InhaltBill of Lading for shipping of 1200 firkins of butter "marked X No.1201 a 2400 branded CORK D.C&K NEW", shipped 'by the Grace of God in good order and well conditioned, by Beamish, Crawford and Keating, on the 'good ship Lydia', whose 'Master under God' is Thomas Watson. The ship is 'riding under anchor in the Port of Cork & by Gods Grace bound for London'. The butter will be 'delivered in the like good order and well conditioned....(the Danger of the Seas only excepted)'. The charge for the freight is 18 shillings per tun of 32 firkins [about 37 and a half tuns in this cargo, making a charge of £33.3s.15d]. The Master has confirmed 3 bills of lading, one of which was accomplished and the other two to stand void. 'And so God send the good Ship to her desired Port in Safety. Amen. Dated in Cork 8 Decemr. 1786'. Signed Robert Richardson for the Master. With a Beamish Crawford and Keating printed logo.
