Form und InhaltPhotocopy of 'Attested Copy Protest of Steamship Rhosina', at the office of Atwell H. Allen, Notary Public, Queenstown. An account of how the Rhosina (1692 tons register) en route from New York to Cork with a cargo of wheat and maize, was shipwrecked in a storm, and the crew rescued by the ship Tabasco of Sunderland, which had lost her propellor. The account is by George William Currie, of Cardiff, Master, James Banks Lonie, Chief Officer, George Oliver Chief Engineer, John Banks duly articled seaman. Recounts damage and the slow flooding and listing of the ship. Following days of heavy seas and technical problems, on 31 Jan, the engine room and boilers flooded and the crew abandoned ship, taking a lifeboat to the Tabasco and arriving at Queenstown on 9 Feb.
