Scope and ContentIRA/republican prisoners, such as Tadhg Barry, were interned at Ballykinlar Co. Down during the War of Independence. Such prisoners were forbidden to retain money in their posession. Internees used paper chits for their transactions, which were designed by Michael O'Brien, a veteran of Easter Week, and printed in Dublin.
