Scope and ContentA. (1824) Volume of 8 hand drawn estate maps of Earl of Egmont Kanturk Estate Created/drawn/surveyed by N.M. Fitzgerald, Cork.
The 8 maps in the volume are drawn to the scale of 40 perches to an inch. The volume contains detailed maps of lands of Park, Monevara, Coolacusane, Town and Town Lands, Blue Pool, Sradeen, Curra, Rosline, Rusheen. Total area of 1726 acres, 1 rood and 5 perches Irish Plantation Measure. The individual landholdings/properties in each area are indicated and in a reference table next to each map are the names of the tenants/occupiers of each holding with the acreages of their holdings. The maps include some shading to indicate topography/elevations, and various colourings and lines set out boundaries with drawings of certain features such as woodlands, rivers, large buildings, roads, etc. Bordering townlands and properties are indicated. The maps have elaborate title and textual inscriptions and decorative North compass indicators. 43 x 35cm. (18pp)
