Scope and ContentRelief register recording details of those receiving outdoor relief from Kanturk Poor Law Union workhouse. The first half of the volume is not legible as it has been used as a personal political scrapbook by John D. O'Connor for the period 1880s - early 1900s. O'Connor was a merchant with a bottling plant and shop in Kanturk. He was a member of the Kanturk Board of Guardians and a member of the United Irish League in the Land War, and later of the Irish Party for Home Rule.
