Scope and ContentThomas Hewitt, various receipts, accounts for goods purchased, mainly from shops and firms in London, mainly in Turnham Green/Chiswick area, but also Hammersmith, Piccadilly, and other areas. . Also bundle of misc. items relating to Chiswick including appointment as Special Constable, 1848. Includes retailers, tradesmen, craftsmen, and Suppliers include shoemakers, chandlers, drapers, brewers, coal merchants, jewellers, ironmongers, carpenters, fishmongers, tailors, hardware merchants, stationers, etc. Such as, JW Allen, West Strand, Portmanteaus manufacturer, receipt 1861; Thomas Catchpool, Brewer and Coal Merchant, Hammersmith, 1845-51; James Eden, Plumber, 1849; William Evans, Masonic Jewel and Clothing Manufacturer, receipt for gauntlet, 1850; Hill Brothers Naval and Military Tailors, 1872; WC Pratt Grocer and Tea Dealer Turnham Green, 1846, 1851, etc. (Box 55)
