Etendue et contenu1. 27 Nov. [?1830-1860] MS. letter from Daniel Maclise (artist, b1806 -d1870), 4 Russell Place, [Tibury Square], [London], to 'Dear Sir', Richard Dowden. He is unable to contribute and sends thanks for Dowden's flattering recollection of him. (1p)
2. nd [?1830-1860] As above. He is unable to dine with Dowden as he has taken a cold with his sketches '...at Cork Fair...'. (1p)
3. nd [?1830 - 1860] As above. Apologises for not accepting Dowden's invitation, owing to poor health. (1p)
4. nd [1832] As above. He has been busy doing nothing, '...such has been the nature of my occupation since I came to Cork...', and he missed Dowden and Dr. Sloane. Asks if Dowden has seen a print of a picture by Mulready of the Wolf and the Lamb. He has fixed on a subject 'Snap apple night', and will paint it for the next house exhibition, and afterwards for 'the Cork one...', etc. (1p)
