Scope and Content1. 13 Nov 1846 Printed pamphlet, 'Distress in Ireland', issued by the Society of Friends (Quaker) Central Committee, Dublin. With list of the 21 members of the committee (including Richard Allen, Thomas Pim, and Adam Woods) and corresponding members from around Ireland (including Abraham Beale and Ebeneezer Pike, Cork). Text of address by committee to the members in Ireland by Joseph Bewley and Jonatham Pim, secretaries, concerning the famine, measures to alleviate hunger such as 'soup shops', collection of funds. Also extracts of letters from 3 correspondents in Westmeath, the midlands and Waterford City, concerning the effects of famine and efforts to help. With list of subscriptions of Friends in Dublin for a central relief fund. (4pp)
