Scope and Content1. 10 July 1836 Printed circular letter/address re. [Poor] Laws, to Daniel O'Connell MP, from '...the grateful servant of Ireland's Liberator, Economist'. Refers to problems of establishing a Poor Rate in Ireland. (4pp)
2. 30 Oct 1840 Printed 'Report on the Industrial Plan of Education under the direction of the Poor Law Commissioners in England', by Henry Biggs assistant secretary to the Cork Foundling Hospital, to the Governors of the hospital. Refers to education of pauper children in England. (26pp)
3. 4 Nov 1845 Printed circular letter from Andrew Roche LAC, and George Wycherly MD, offering candidacy for office of vaccinators to the Cork electoral division of the Cork Union. (1p)
4. 6 Nov. 1845 Printed pamphlet from John Classon, 'To the People of Ireland Who Subsist on Potatoes and a few Hints to Others'. Gives advice on keeping and growing potatoes, creation of farina and starch as a way of preserving them. Refers to possibility of the Union Workhouses taking in and preserving 'the potatoes that will not keep in the miserable damp pits of the poor...'. (3pp)
