Scope and ContentPrinted booklet containing a schedule of denominations or land divisions, to be used by the collector of 'public money' [rates] for Grand Jury purposes. The present book relates to the area of the South Liberties of the City of Cork. At the back is a printed declaration by the Grand Jury for the City and County of the City of Cork regarding the appointment of 'the collector of the Public Money of the South Liberties' [names and dates left blank.] The book is to record total sums to be levied for each denomination, not from individual ratepayers.
The schedule contains columns for name of denomination, No. of English Acres, Yearly Acreable Value, Total Amount, Sum to be levied [blank]. Examples: Carrigroghan, 1512.8 acres, £1.15.0 value per acre, total £2,656.3.0; Ballinlough, 322.8 acres, £3 value per acre, total £968.8.0. Overall total valuation is £38,097 18s 6.5d.
