Etendue et contenuMS. possibly drafted by an election agent of John Hely Hutchinson MP (b.1724-d.1794), for the 1783 Irish Parliament election in Cork City. Contains lists of names, addresses and occupations of over 756 Freemen, and approx. 200 40 shilling (£2) and £10 Freeholders of the City of Cork, including those resident in the County of the City of Cork, as well as non-resident Freemen such as Members of Parliament. Some entries contain family details or details of informants. All persons listed are Protestant, as Catholics and others were unable to qualify for the vote until 1793.
Freemen include; '117 Richard Butterworth, Major Royal Irish Artillery Dublin'; '137. William Coles, Sand Quay, Burgess'; '152. Francis Creed, Blarney Lane appoint[ed] to the Milk Market - Chandler'; '179. William Collis, Castlemaine Tralee [informed] by Lord Glandore' ; '221 Richard Daunt, Daunt's Bridge, Atty.' (Attorney) ; '279 Roger Green, Youghal, Merchant' ; 313. Andrew Hill, North Abbey, Cooper [informed] by Mathew Church Sunday's Well Road, Merchant, and George Newsom...Mathew Church was made free by Burgess Brown' ; '478. John Monk Mason, Dublin, MP'; '649. Philip Stevens, London, Admiralty' ; '756. Benjamin Williamson son-in-law to Aldn.(Alderman) Philpott'.
