Also, note on title page concerning origins of the organisation; that in 1883, it consisted of 30-40 'practical members' and that 'old books' show it existing in about 1800 (c.500pp). Also encloses printer circular letter concerning testimonial to spiritual director Fr. McSweeney (25 Sep 1907) U695/2 (1949) Register of Yearly Members, Purgatorial Society of St Augustines, Cork. Gives date of first payment, name, address (c.200pp) U695/3 (1957) [List of Members, Purgatorial Society of St Augustines, Cork], 'Taken from Daily Papers from November 1957 or [?list of deceased]. Gives name and address (c.200pp) U695/4 (?1950s) Alphabetical Index of Members, [Purgatorial Society of St Augustines], Cork. Gives name and address (loose volume).
