With lists of Catholic and Church of Ireland dignitaries and rectors, calendar, tables of sun and moon and tides, English/Irish money exchange tables, equations of time, list of magistrates, city officers, justices of the peace for County Cork, barristers, attornies, physicians, bankers, customs and excise officers. Descriptions of public institutions such as, the Cork Library Society, Cork Institution, House of Recovery, Dispensary and Humane Society, Lying-In Hospital, Magdalen Asylum, Orphan Asylum, Philosophical and Literary Society, Work-House and Foundling Hospital, Eye Infirmary, North and South Charitable Infirmaries, Friendly Society, St.Stephen's Hospital, various schools. Note re. coal distribution, rates of postage, list of post towns, Commercial Buildings Company, assurance and insurance companies, list of sovereign princes of Europe, list of fairs in Ireland by county, details of hearth and window tax, carriage tax, stamp duty. Schedule of the Gateage Tolls, Dues and Customs claimed by the Corporation of the City of Cork such as 'Each cask or firkin of Butter under 100wt.so entering...' (three quarters of a penny) and such as 'Each Cow, Steer, Bull, or Ox, bought in the market....', 4 pence. Also list of 'genuine patent medicines' sold by Geary.
