Etendue et contenu1. (21 Nov 1820) MS. letter from Christopher Hely Hutchinson, MP, Versailles to ''My Dear Hutchins'', [?Arthur Hutchins]. Includes declaration '' . . .I shall never give up Cork . . .'' ; explains his political actions; gives his views on the Catholics' situation; also photocopy of same and T.S. transcript. (7pp).
2. (23 Feb 1822) MS. memo by [?Arthur Hutchins]. It refers to the late acts of Parliament which the writer says are ''war measures'' and will only make ''the insurgents pause, to rise more numerous, better armed, and more in concert''. It refers to rack rents, tithes, state of education, the insurrection in Limerick and the taking of prisoners about Macroom to Bantry, the failure to pass the Catholic bill, etc. Also TS. transcript and photocopy of same. (4pp).
3. (27 May 1828) MS. Oath taken by John Cronin of Kealcaum, Parish of Keelmacomoge, Barony of Bantry before Arthur Hutchins swearing he turned out 8 boat-loadings of coral sand on his lands. Also TS. transcript and photocopy of same. (1p)
4. (27 Feb 1863) Photocopy and TS. transcript of letter from emigrant to the USA, John Quinlan, Michigan Southern and Northern Indiana Freight Depot, Cook County, Illinois, Chicago, USA, to his brother Maurice Quinlan, [Cork], Ireland (4pp).
5. (1 Aug 1871) Photocopy and TS. transcript of letter from John Quinlan, 531 S. Jefferson Street, Cook County, Chicago. Illinois to 'Honoured and My dear Sir', Emanuel Hutchins Esq. [Fortlands], Cork. (5pp).
