Etendue et contenuFile relating to the 250th anniversary of the signing of the first known minutes in Irish Freemasonry.
1. The file includes an envelope with a special Masonic postal cancellation, dated '27 XII 1976', with the square and compasses symbols, and the dates 1726-1976. The envelope and cover were issued with a covering letter by Douglas Walefield, PM of the Lodge, in September 1976. In a note on the reverse of the covering letter [accompanying the deposit] Wakefield notes 'I sent 3486 to about 30 countries, a mixture of history and stamp collecting!'.
2. Photocopy of minutes of the Grand Lodge for Munster, December 1726 to June 1749 (20pp).
3. Two certificates issued by the Royal Arch Chapter of Ireland respecting the admission of Richard Aldworth as a regular royal arch mason in Lodge No 84 Bandon, and his raising to the degree of master mark mason, both registered 4 Feb 1873, certificates signed 1 March 1873.
4. Ceremony of Constitution of the District Grand Royal Arch Chapter of Munster, at Freemasons' Hall, Tuckey Street, Cork, on Wednesday, 8 July 1914. Printed programme.
5. Small bundle of notes and copied pages from journals, relating to Masonic history and members in Cork and Munster.
