"Yea! A new light is kindling in their eyes;
The blood is tingling in their palsee'd limbs
Near and more near they see thy glories rise
A halo round thy thorn-crowned head..." (from V.1)
2. c1896 MS. poem, 'Sentan the Culdee', with meditations by a Culdee, or early Irish hermit. 9 verses. (17pp)
"This is the vision of a man of God,
Long ere the times grew saddest, and the din
Of human voices silenced in the depths
The diapason deep of God most High. (V.1)
Not where the lilies nod, the roses flame,
And gods go glimmering through leafy aisles
And sons of men grow wanton in the chase,
Or mad with lust of battle and of blood..." (V.2)
