Scope and ContentArtificial collection of items:
SM12/1 Game Certificate issued 16 Sep 1841 to Francis Stawell, Kilbrack, Doneraile, Co Cork, certified by Bernard O'Shea, Distributer of Stamps, permitting him to kill game until 25 March 1842. References to act regulating collection of duties on game certificates printed on inside of form.
SM12/2 Receipt for Cork Corporation Meat Market, stall 44 [printed letterhead], dated 1847, for mutton 'bought of John Kearney'. Signed by Kearney. [Feint and tattered]
SM12/3 Newscuttings, 26 and 28 July 1967, ('Times'), containing part of a letter from Eoin O Maille suggesting that Britain led 'the Lusitania up the U-boat path, in order to hasten American intervention in the war', and a letter by GC Duggan, civil servant, Admiralty, strongly protesting against O Maille's 'outrageous - I might almost say criminal - suggestion'.
SM12/4 Newscutting, Evening Echo, 7 Dec 1972, with image of memorial card for Rory O'Connor, Liam Mellows, Richard Barrett, and Joseph McElvey, reproduced to mark the fiftieth anniversary of their deaths, with quotes from Pearse and MacSwiney regarding sacrifice.
